Alkborough & District Riding Club was founded by a small group of like-minded horse riders and owners during 2008 when it became clear that there was very little in the way of local equestrian organisations which catered for adults.

 

During the years that followed the Riding Club grew in numbers and began putting on small organised rides, local trips and social outings. Following the success of these events and with our ever expanding membership, in 2011 we decide to become BHS affiliated and became a British Riding Club member.

 

Our members enjoy all the benefits associated with belonging to the BRC but in addition have access to a range of benefits specific to our own club, such as 10% of a range of goods and services including tack shops, hair and beauty, sports hypnosis and horse box and trailer maintenance to name a few.

 

We now have competitive (senior and junior) teams for both Show Jumping and Dressage and regularly attend area qualifiers.  We organise a wide range of events including dressage and show jumping training rallies, fun days and fancy dress rides and social evenings which are open to everyone.

 

At our bi-monthly Riding Club meetings we try and arrange to have guest speakers which have previously included talks on ‘Over coming Riding Fears using Hypnosis’ ‘Preparing your Horse for Shows’ and ‘Natural Horsemanship’.

 

Alkborough & District Riding Club welcomes new members of any level, equestrian discipline and ability. If you just love horses, whether you ride them, compete them, show them, drive them or just keep them for fun then we have something for you.
