Late in 2006, with the closing of the village Post Office, Alkborough Coronation Club became the only service outlet in the village. For over 70 years it has provided a service to many people in the village and the surrounding area. It is still for many families a central part of village life.
For some, The Club means a place to relax after a hard day , a place to have a good chat, a discussion about politics, the weather, football or the latest gossip. A place to bring friends for a quiet drink. Others will remember children’s’ parties at Christmas and Halloween, the annual trip to the sea-side, the senior members Christmas tea with entertainment. For others, club games, darts and pool flyers, quizzes, BBQs and discos, will be remembered with affection. |

The Alkborough and Walcot Residents Association are holding some of their events in The Club. It is hoped this site will encourage people who have not been in before to try it out and perhaps even get to like it! So Why Should I Join?
· It is a great place to relax with friends · You can take the whole family in · You can walk there and don’t have to drive · As a member you have a say in how the place is run, what entertainment goes on and can instigate new policies and stand for the committee. · It needs your support. The Club is what its members make it. It is the members that make it successful and flourish. |
